Was 45 minute wait but worth it because everything is made to order. 3 sets of diners and carryout came in at once so practice... patience people if this happens to you. It's worth waiting for. The flavors, presentation, and amount of food is outstanding.Worth the price. Will be returning. Sweet find. Read more

What a treat! I know very little about African food and this was an eye-opener. I had thieboudjen (fish and rice), attieke... (fermented cassava), fataya (meat turnovers). Everything was excellent, seemed like uncompromising home cooking, portions werehuge, owners were very nice and helpful. I'm really glad that I finally stopped in, I recommend this restaurant highly, ifyou're looking for something out of the ordinary you'll love it. Read more

I've been in Tampa for 3 years and BABATCHE is the best African restaurants no cap. We tried the Guinea Fowl (Pintade) yesterday... and it was amazing! Look, if I drove 45mn to get to that place it says a lot. If you're looking for African homemade cooks(specially Ivory Coast and Senegal) you found the right spot. Go check it out you won't be disappointed!! Read more

You have to try this place! Picked up a delicious dinner today at Babatchê. Three of us ordered and shared our meals family... style and loved everything we ordered. The Mafé was a stunning peanut and lamb stew. The peanut flavor was incredible andwell balanced. Thiebu Djen was another favorite. Fragrant and very satisfyingly savory, this dish of stewed fish andvegetables was served with the famous Djolof rice. The umami flavors from the fish, tomato, and spices was a real winner. Wealso ordered a grilled chicken which was seasoned to perfection and grilled with perfect char marks and a Smokey flavor. Fordessert we ordered the Thiery, a millet, sour cream, and brown sugar "pudding" which had a texture of tapioca pudding and aslight flavor of cheesecake. Read more

Yaya was very hospitable and helpful explaining the menu as we had never had any West African dishes. I ordered the stewed fish... and the ginger drink which were amazing. My mom ordered the lamb and was also very impressed. Everything is cooked fresh toorder, so there is a bit of a wait, but totally worth it. Read more

Really incredible food. I got the peanut lamb dish. The meat and vegetables were so tender they melted in your mouth. My... boyfriend got the spiced lamb dish, which was spiced to perfection. Definitely recommend checking this place out. Read more
