The outside of the restaurant made me a tad uneasy as a first impression, but man was I WRONG. We felt so welcomed and the food... was beyond amazing. I can confidently say it was the best soul food I?ve ever had, and I?ve had ALOT. The pinto beans were crazygood, the Mac and cheese was PERFECT and the fried chicken was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. My parents have been eating here regularly. My dad loves the Fried Chicken and green beans. They were discussing the... catfish plate one. I decided to join them on Friday night. I love catfish in general. But, this was the best fried catfish Ihave had in YEARS. The flavor is amazing and more than generous portion sizes. I cannot recommend this place enough. Absolutely loveee this place! The staff an owners are amazing! The food is unbelievably good! And the portions are huge!!!! JJs... is by far our new favorite spot to eat! Visited JJ?s Mama Soulfood today for the first time whilst in town and was blown away. The food was fantastic. Though I don?t... eat meat and only fish, the catfish was phenomenal and FRESH which is very hard to find nowadays. The collards were out of thisworld and the yams, I left nothing in the bowl. My relatives also enjoyed their dishes (Neckbones, baked Mac and cheese, friedchicken, butterfly shrimp, etc).. not to mention the pricing was just as good and our waitress was amazing and very attentive,couldn?t have asked for better service. I stopped in here because my son was hungry after getting off from work. It was around 3:30 pm and it wasn't busy. Waitress... Jamey greeted us and told us to sit anywhere. She was attentive and very pleasant. The restaurant appeared clean. We orderedfried chicken and waffle, fried chicken entree with 2 sides and Buffalo flavored wingettes. My son devoured is chicken andwaffle and added an order of hush puppies. I had a glass of wine with my meal. We both enjoyed our meals. The wings were big,crunchy, and flavorful.
