This is where good sushi meets good company. Waiters will help you pick the right meal, after asking a few what seems at first... random questions. Always ask them what they recommend. Must try list: toro and salmon medley, uni toro truffle, white tuna, HYEand that sake in blue bottle. Don’t forget to pour a shot for Wendy and the head chef and they will show you the best time. Sit at the bar, ask for Wendy, and pour a shot of sake for both you and her. As the owner, Wendy has made me feel at home here... in LA when I moved from the East Coast. Tsuri to me is family. On to the food. Some of the best sushi I’ve had in my life, chef CO is wonderful and brilliant. They also have new fish consistent so even if you tried something one week, come back andsee what is new on the menu. The place is understated and I like that. Probably one of my favorite blocks on Melrose beforeMelrose turns into “Melrose”. Read more

This restaurant is good for trying some new things. The plates are made with detail and there is a range of sushi rolls and... other Japanese meals. I liked the restaurant distribution because it has an open kitchen and you can see the chefs cooking live. They are very active and dynamic and it create a really cool atmosphere. The waiter was also very kind and fast. In terms ofprice, it matches with the quality. Read more

Unexpectedly good. Usually I don't expect too much from US sushi joints. At Tsuri the server did not even know what umeshu is... or most of the sushi names in Japanese even though they were right there in the menu. But then she brought the order and it wasthe best ootoro I had in the States to date. Other stuff we tried was pretty good too (their fish is superb which plays a hugerole in it). Definitely on par with decent places in Japan (more expensive on most of the stuff though, but taking into accountairfare savings...) Definitely recommend to stop by if you are nearby. Read more
