My Girlfriend and I went into the Black Rabbit not knowing what to expect. We knocked on the bookcase in the back and went into... a beautiful back room bar. While the drinks were awesome, what really set this bar above it's competitors were the staff. We hadAustin as a bartender, he made great drinks and was incredibly friendly. While we sat there with our cocktails we gradually metan increasing number of the staff all of which took the time to stop and have conversations with us, offering their advice atwhat we should do while we were in town. By the end of the night we didnt want to leave. A true thank you to the staff at BlackRabbit for giving us an incredible experience. Read more
We had an old fashioned, a daily signature, pork belly, pretzels and beer cheese, ribeye, fried chicken, creme brulee, and... peanut butter pie. We sat in the rabbit hole. This is one of my new favorite restaurants in the Louisville metro. Everythingwas amazing. The staff were all experts on their menu and the history of the business. The dining area and theme are justawesome and unlike anything else in Louisville. Highly recommend the Black Rabbit. Read more
Honestly this place came highly recommended so we made a reservation for the Black Rabbit speakeasy and got excited for the... experience. Upon arrival we were seated in what was called "the overflow" by our waiter, even though there was plenty of spacein the actual bar we thought we had a reservation for. We were basically drinking cocktails in a barely updated small boardroom. But we gave it a shot, and were fine until two staff members were looking for bottle of wine and liquor in the cabinetsdirectly behind where we were seated, leaning over me and my wife, until we eventually had to get up for them to dig throughstorage. Drinks were fine, even though the cocktail menu was just 5 options and two of them were old fashioneds. We got thecharcuterie board and the waiter couldn't name everything on the board, and then walked away for about 5 minutes so we couldn'task for any flatware and napkins to start eating until he got back. We left much sooner than we planned on, and on the way outthe Black Rabbit bar area was almost empty and dead. So I'm not sure why we got shoved into overflow then. A bad endcap to apoor experience.
