Reviews for Las Brisas in Lubbock, TX

We were told Las Brisas is the nicest restaurant in town, and I'm inclined to believe it, even if it's the only one I visited... while in Lubbock. Let me start by saying that I have hashimotos, which requires me to be totally gluten free. Most of myreviews center on bringing that info to the growing number of people who have to be careful at restaurants given their ownhealth diagnosis. Las Brisas is somewhat sympathetic to gluten free diners, even given it's in a more rural town. That ispleasantly surprising and I am glad I was able to get a meal that I could eat besides a salad, but it's obvious they are stilllearning how to accommodate that. I warned our waiter at our arrival that I was strictly gluten free and he informed me that hewould bring the gluten free menu. However, I had to remind our waiter that we still needed the menu a while later, so we didn'thave as much time to consider our options as everyone else did. Our waiter was knowledgeable about what menu items were gf andwhich weren't which was nice. He was also very kind and prompt with all of the rest of our service. We ordered an appetizersampler with one option that was gf for me to eat and different fried foods for everyone else. Unfortunately, it was covered inthe not gluten free breading of the calamari it sat right next to on the plate. It would have been really lovely to have beengiven the consideration to plate the gf item separate. I'm sure no one thought about it twice, but it did mean we spent $60 onan appetizer I couldn't have a bite of. The food varied a bit in quality for the price, but by and large it was very good. Weordered the appetizer sampler with stuffed shrimp, crab cakes, and calamari. Though I didn't eat any of it, I was told it wasgood. The calamari and crab cakes were everyone's favorite. I got a side salad with blue cheese that was lovely and the LasBrisas salmon which was also good. I wanted the salmon to be more seasoned underneath the cream sauce, but I like Read more

The atmosphere was so inviting. Grant was our waiter and he was amazing. He had fantastic Recommendations! The steak was cooked... to perfection. It was mouth watering. The truffle mashed potatoes were family style and melted in your mouth! If I lived inLubbock I’d be in trouble as this would become a frequent dinner option! Thanks for making our dinner superb! I had an amazing birthday dinner here the other night. Grant, our server, did an excellent job at pairing our wines with our... meals. I had the A5 wagyu ribeye. It was perfectly cooked, and is most likely the best steak I've ever eaten. Everything wasamazing from the appetizers too desserts. If you haven't been here you need to try it out! Read more

well. We went there for few times.Last night we went there. We order couple surf and turf with wagyu filet mignon. Also wagyu... new york steak. Those filet just doesn’t taste and looks like wagyu . I asked our server Ethan if he send wrong order . Hetold me those are right . But that still doesn’t looks right to me . So i went there today find manager and show her . Shetold me that is definitely not wagyu. And she said she can refund the difference between regular filet and wagyu filet to me. Tobe honest. If i willing to spend $800 for a dinner. That means i want wagyu. I feel insulted when she said that to me. Theyshould do better job Read more

This is the third best steak I've had in life. So it ranks above the Ruth Chris and Morton's of the world. The service at the... bar was top notch. Even with the top notch bar service there leaves room for improvement and selection of beers and moreimportantly being a steakhouse in Texas tequila's. Atmosphere was really nice with the only available seating being in the bararea and outside without a reservation. This being Texas in early June the outside seating isn't preferable. I had the lobstermac and cheese which was absolutely awesome and a loaded baked potato. I honestly wish I would have passed on a baked potato andwent for one of the other sides just to try something different. I had the smaller fillet which is my preferred steak of choiceand stayed away from the bigger fatty steaks. I ordered my steak medium which it came out slightly over which is weird for asteakhouse usually they come out slightly under when I asked for medium medium steaks. Since the steak was such a high cut ofbeef it retained the tenderness that I normally experience with my medium medium steak so it wasn't an issue. The steak was veryvery flavorful there was no need for anything no extra salt no extra pepper none of those fancy toppings that they have on offerI would say stay with just the steak. Now this is where preference comes in. If you have the money sure this place is going tobe your premier steakhouse in all of Lubbock. But for about half the cost triple J's near the University is going to give youabout 75% of the quality for less than half of the cost so there's that. Will I go back to Las Brisas yes I think I will, willit be my first choice probably not. The only reason being is because I know how good the other steak houses in the town are. Read more

Arrived to judgemental girls at the reservation desk, ended up eating outside, the view around the restaurant is pleasant,... appetizers were really good and the waitress worked hard but she was covering to many tables, food was slow, steaks weresmothered in pepper that we did not ask for, lobster was cold. Not worth 380$. Did not meet expectations! Read more
