Edit: getting better! I got the steak fajitas for lunch the other day and everything was cooked correctly and it was flavorful.... The service still needs some work, but a definite step in the right direction. ??? The service was terrible. I stood at thefront waiting to be seated for a long time. The waiter rarely checked on me and I waited to pay for almost 10 minutes. The foodwas terrible. The salsa had no flavor other than giant chunks of raw onion. The fajitas were terrible. The chicken was rubberyand completely flavorless. It had giant chunks of tomatoes and raw onion. Not good. I will never go back. Read more
This is the best Mexican food we've found in the area. Service was great, the food was delicious and the margaritas were... perfect! The interior is decorated nicely so the whole place has a good vibe. Also, they played Bob Ross the whole time, whichhonestly is just fantastic. Read more
First thing to address is that this is no longer Vallarta?s. It?s San Jose Mexican Restaurant. We know Vallarta?s is great, so... when we discovered the change as we arrived, we were cautious but gave it a shot. The people are very friendly. Food wasdisappointing. Hands down the best Mexican food I've had in a long time. EVERYTHING was amazing from the chips & salsa to the margaritas and... the main meals. I had a combo platter with tostada, Chile relleno and a Tamale and my husband got a platter with 5 differenttacos and we loved everything we were served. I look for tamales everywhere I go and these are the best I've had probably ever!Nothing wrong with this restaurant. The staff was also very friendly and the prices were more then fair.. What a great Mexican restaurant. It was originally Vallarta's, but now it's San Jose Mexican restaurant. It is exceptional.... Andres was an excellent waiter. He made us the best drinks. We had a Sea Breeze and a Bay Breeze. Very accommodating! The chipswere crisp and tasty. The salsa fabulous! I ordered the grilled tilapia which was an incredibly generous portion. My husbandordered the Mexican supreme dinner. He loved it! I would eat here again in a heartbeat. The best was the outdoor dining, under acanopy. What a great restaurant! It's located in the cutest little village of many different restaurants, right off 589/Suncoast Parkway. Very easy to get to. Plenty of parking. Huge seating area inside. Read more

Customer always right . used to be the old saying '' look at pictures first than read the post please Roxy the waitress . well... you need to learn the menu ' my wife clearly asked for the side of beans stated in the menu ..
