Phenomenal. Delicious. Flavorful. I?m sure I could come up with more adjectives to describe the lunch we ate at EmpaTaco today... but WOW. We ordered the Birria Tacos and the shredded pork Arepa. This is a gem, humbly situated at the foot of the Madisonville bridge. Heavy Central American influence, not the usual TexMex... fare. Wonderful homemade hot sauces, ( red, green, and chipotle). Delightful tacos, flan, Colombian corn empanadas, arepas, andseveral dishes I can't pronounce. Where else can one find the elusive lengua (beef tongue) taco? Excellent fried sweetplantains. Delicious food and great service! Update: I used to love this place, but the last time we went we got a horrible stomach virus... right after finding some metal strings in our beans, probably from the can opener or something. What a shame, but we got reallyreally sick so we won?t be coming back. Read more
We were visiting our oldest son and his family. When it was supper time he asked if we liked Mexican. We said that was great. He... took us to Empa Taco. We were able to find a place and the restaurant is on a major roadway. The family that ran was Hispanicand they were anxious please their customers. We ordered empanadas and chimichangas. The food was hot and tasty. I had a beefchimichanga with sides. It was more than enough. I left feeling well fed. The server was anxious to please. We ate on a coveredporch. Wow so over the moon about this place. We were hungry, so we ordered a bunch of stuff to try. The birria tacos were amazing and... loaded with meat! I'm not a refried bean person but had to try and I could not stop eating them. Everything was great, can'twait to go back again. This is a definite must try. Read more
