In our visit to Deklan?s, we ordered the ?Chubby Checker Burger? (mushroom Swiss), the ?Sunset Strip? (BLT), french fries &... onion rings. We also had a soda & apple juice. The total for this was approximately $25, which for the quality & portions wereceived, was far too expensive. Either the prices need to come down, or the portions need to come up. The food is bland intaste and lacking in color. This was evident in our meal (lunches) and especially evident in breakfast meals (pictured). Thetheme for Deklan?s is 50?s Car Hop / Diner - however, there is very little that actually brings this theme to life. We weresurprised to be sitting in silence with no music playing and the lack of color from the food extends itself to the restaurantand property. Where are those flashy 50?s colors? Polka dot accents? We were very excited to try this place out and gave it acouple months for them to work out understandable and inevitable ?opening day hiccups? - but it still felt like they weren?tready. New place that just opened 9-2020. 50's drive-in theme. They are doing car service and have outdoor seating. I tried the... biscuits and gravy. The sausage gravy was big pieces of sausage, the biscuits were light and fluffy. My only comment would be itcould have used just a touch more of gravy for a little more "wetness" The corned beef and hash has a twist here. It is cornedbeef in hash browns, was still good. Prices are decent even low, however if you order an omlet there are no included sides, soyou have to order pancakes and hash browns as separate items. Read more
We arrived around 10:45 and my wife asked if she could still have breakfast, and was told she could. I ordered a milkshake and a... sprite, at 10:50, by the time the server came back it was 11:10 and told my wife that they cannot make her breakfast anymoresince everything was just put away. LAME! Their menu is quite large but do not have a lot of the ingredients listed. And thatseems to be a reoccurring issue based on other reviews. My Wife ordered the turkey Reuben and I got the Ricky Ricardo burger.The food was ok, not very memorable, the burger patty was a nice size, but under seasoned, and the flavor got lost in the cheeseand hot sauce. Both the sweet potato and regular Fries were just the average frozen fries. Now the decor: it?s advertised as a50?s drive-in, but other than that, there?s nothing really 50?s about it, other than a few Coca-Cola signs and old records onthe wall. But the records aren?t even from the 50?s! There?s 60?s Motown, Elton John, and RATT the hair band from the 80?s.There is no music playing (and you would think they could at least have some 50?s rock-n-roll) the chairs are old, and used withthe paint chipped off and very worn. Not what you would expect in a restaurant that just opened. The booths are also worn, andsome have rips in them. There is no cash register, or proper till. Just the insert from a cash register and a calculator. Thewhole place looks thrown together. They could?ve waited another couple of weeks to get it done right. Today was Deklans opening day. I get that, but they were not prepared. Now, when we arrived, there were only a handful of tables... occupied, so not busy. That being said, it took half an hour to even get a menu, we knew pretty quickly what we wanted to haveso we ordered a few minutes after getting the menus. Then, coffee decanters were leaking water, menu states they have fountaindrinks but they actually have canned soda, they had waffles but the waffle maker broke. Then after waiting for our food for 40minutes and watching a table who ordered 20 minutes after us get their food first, we left. We will not be going to Deklansagain. Read more
