We had an exceptional impromptu date night at Tanuki as we were ducking a storm. The waiter Adrian was wonderful. We had the... Miami spice vegan menu and were stuffed. The food was so well seasoned and came out fast. We really enjoyed the experience andauthentic tastes. Hope to go again soon. Thanks! Read more

I had high expectations, given the great reviews and pics online. The atmosphere is really nice, but unfortunately, the food was... disappointing. The spicy scallop roll was too small (see pic). The dragon roll was bland. And the chef special was awkward toeat because the sashimi was under the maki, making it hard to pick them both up together with chopsticks. The fried rice alsolacked flavor and had an odd texture because it was a really short grain. Read more

Loved the feel of this place! Food was amazing! Service was great! And everything came out so fast! Restaurant was decorated... very simple, but modern and plate presentation was phenomenal! 10/10 would recommend!! Will definitely be back next time I’min Miami! Read more

The chicken was pretty good. Sushi in my opinion was nothing special and definitely did not match the price. Automatic 18% tip... was added to bill, not a fan of forced gratuity as this should be based upon the level of service in my opinion which didn’tlevel up. Environment is cool, but service was very blah. Might return to try non-sushi items. Read more

Our waiter from the 1Hotel, Chris C highly recommended Tanuki and we decided to try it. First note - make your reservation as... the hostess didn't seem to be flexible with seatings the day we were there (our party size increased by one). Second note - ourreservation overlaps with "happy hour" and what a great way to sample their dishes at the happy hour prices (don't be fooled, the portions were sample size as well). Nevertheless it's a phenomenal way to explore any restaurants' dishes. The ambiance waslively - great place for dates, groups, after work, and I didn’t feel like it was a tourist trap. Service was a tad bit slowbut it is Miami and vacation for us so that was not a big deal. The food was excellent - I have no pictures to show, perhaps thedishes didn't linger long enough before it was devoured. Side Note - dog friendly as you will see in one of my attachedpictures. I have dined at Sushi Garage which I felt was a bit overrated nevertheless a good spot for sushi in Miami but notnecessarily that place that hit my recurring visit list; Tanuki is becoming my go-to spot for sushi in Miami (definitely hit therecurring visit list) And how can I miss the cocktails!!!! They were innovative and amazing. Very Important - if you know ChrisC, let him know he was on point with his recommendation. Read more

Everything is delicious! We tried the Happy Hour menu and ordered fried chicken and it’s very tender and soft, the spicy tuna... with crispy rice gave me a “wow” factor! The dragon roll and salmon roll were both excellent. In addition, I like theatmosphere and the music We came back for Sunday brunch “feast experience”. Thank you, to our wonderful staff Nick, GMGabby and awesome Chef Jason for making it a memorable New Year’s Sunday. Read more

Visited for lunch on the weekend for a birthday in the family. Service was on point. From the reservation, they made sure to... greet us and wish a happy birthday. At the table, the specials and 3-course brunch were explained. We decided to do lunchinstead, ordering from the menu. We got lots of different plates to share, including some sushi, dim sum, appetizers, as well assome cocktails. Dim sum selection was okay, the variety was fun but they didn’t taste amazing, so I would probably skip onthose, especially because it’s $35 for 6 pieces… sushi was very good and tasted fresh, out favorite rolls were Black Dragonand Philadelphia. Crispy Brussel sprouts were delicious and one of favorite dishes. Salmon truffle ponzu was very tasty as well!Cocktails were great and well balanced. Overall, everything was great and ambiance was on point! Read more
