I had never tried anything from Amy's cakes and she was recommended to me by a couple of friends and let me tell you her cakes... was amazing. I had her make an Iron Man cake for my 5 year old son and it was Soo pretty!!! The cake was moist and sooo good, myson loved it. The staff was so sweet and nice. I had a great experience.. Amy Cakes is by far the BEST bakery we?ve ever ordered from. We wanted a special printed cake for my late father in law?s... celebration of life. He was a huge Disney (Tigger) fan. I created the art, and they printed it- and it was stunning. To behonest, we were blown away at how it looked?. Until we bit into it. O M G - I am not a cake fan, and especially yellow cake, butthis cake had me going back not for seconds, but thirds! It was super moist and dense. Back in April/May I tried ordering a cake for my dad's 70th birthday and they turned me away. But, the way they were very... professional and polite about it really sat well with me. So I just ordered my mom's 70th and gave them a week or so moreadvanced notice. Offered an idea and told them to use as much artistic freedom as they pleased. Picked up the cake the day ofthe party and was blown away. The design was simple but elegant, two tier chocolate with some chocolate filling. This is whereit gets better, I needed "70" candles and they had some that were just not quite the right color scheme. Well Amy herselfhappened to hear me chatting with the cashier about it and offered some color appropriate "70" candles. That personal touch fromthe owner really sat well with me. Fast forward to the party: chocolate cakes in my opinion are usually dry and crumbly by thetime they're eaten. Well not this cake. Moist, appropriately delicate and the buttercream frosting was the perfect ratio. Thefilling was perfect and everyone loved it. Folks at the party were all clamoring for where it came from and I was more thanhappy to let them know I got my cake from Amy. I love Amy cakes. They have the best cupcakes and macarons I've ever tasted. Also if you need to order a regular sheet cake like... they style you would normally get at a grocery store, they do make them too. I wish they would serve the sheet cakes in aplastic box instead of cardboard though because in the cardboard box if you don't eat it all that day it will go stale quickly.Please consider a plastic box like they kind you have been using for the cupcakes lately, it keeps them from going stale. I alsowished that they offered the macarons in prices by the half dozen or dozen and that their hours were not different everyday andthat they were open more because we just love them and sometimes go by while downtown and they are closed Read more
So, I went to pick up my cupcakes from AmyCakes on a Saturday for my daughters birthday party. I had emailed them a week and a... half prior to place my order, and paid my 50% retainer. I showed up, and I had listed the pickup date wrong on the email. Theywent above and beyond to fix MY mistake, and even though there were some order changes (they didn?t have the confetti pre-baked)they were still able to supply me with my cupcakes for her party, and even adjusted the price to reflect the price differencesin the cupcakes I ordered vs. what I received. They were so accommodating to us. While I was there I picked up a decorated sugarcookie, and not only where they ADORABLE, they were so so yummy. The cupcakes were some of the best I?ve ever eaten, and we wereall super happy with what we received. I 100% recommend them not only for their AMAZINGLY delicious cupcakes, they went aboveand beyond to make sure we were taken care of. I will be ordering from them in the future. Read more
This bakery had high ratings in a food group I follow. The cake was fantastic. It was perfect in texture, moisture, and taste.... The frosting and fillings weren't my flavor. I thought the raspberry filling was tart, I prefer sweeter. The oatmeal cookie andmacaroons were okay, not great. Dorothy Lane has a great macaroon. Tried this place for the first time. The cookies we tried- pumpkin, no-bake, and sugar were amazing!! They were so good and the... price was good. The cupcake icing was sweet, but the cupcake was a bit dry. We will definitely be back to try their othertreats. Read more
