The food was great. The only problem was they had no a/c on and the doors were kept open which allowed the bugs to come in.

Love the pernil and mofungo! I’ve ordered many times and it’s delicious, but had an issue with an order once. I contacted... the restaurant to let them know and the owner/manager promptly responded, so appreciative that I brought it to their attentionthat he remedied it right away! Great food and wonderful customer service! Definitely recommend! Read more

Let me start by saying I used to love coming here, the food and service was amazing. Now I haven’t wanted to come here for the... last 2 years as the food started slacking and then the service became worse and worse. Last week, I let my family convince meto give Mina’s a try again. And wow, was I surprised at how TERRIBLE the service was. I called in an order and they forgot toput it in, but even better than that instead of saying something the one person behind the counter didn’t even bother to lookfor my order and ignored me. Then the other girl asked if I was being helped 5 minutes later and told me they never put in theorder. I didn’t get any food. They don’t seem to care at all. I will never be coming back here again. So I just placed an order for $52 over the phone. Which only entailed of moro de guandules with the steak with onions, the skirt... steak with moro de guandules(yellow rice and pigeon peas) and a papa rellena (potato ball) which they did not have and replacedwith yuca rellena. I am of dominican background and grew up in Brooklyn. THIS IS IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM DOMINICAN FOOD ORFLAVORS!!!!! When I arrived the ladies were all over the place. And the food needs flavor!!! THIS IS NOT IT!!!!! ANOTHER LOSSORANGE COUNTY!!!!! I'm sorry but this is $52 down the drain. Even Nelly's is better than this. ???? Read more

One Saturday night, we came in for a small to go order. I asked what was the size for a side of rice and one of the ladies... showed me different containers. I pointed at the tinfoil like one and told her I wanted that size of arroz con gandules. We alsoordered some appetizers including alcapurrias, then sat in the chairs across the counter. Approximately 35 minutes later, weinquired about our order. We were given an attitude and told we were only waiting on the alcapurrias because they are made freshto order. Ummmm, ok. Another 25 min go by and we're wondering if we should've just taken a trip to the cuchifrito on 116th. I'mstanding at the counter now. Yes I'm annoyed, considering tables that came in and sat long before us are wrapping up theirmeals. The lady at the counter sees me and immediately starts whispering something to the other one and they both laugh. Therewere young children nearby so I didn't make a scene. Minutes later, our order was ready and we got the hell out of there. Noapologies for the wait or anything. Something told me to check the bag before pulling out of the lot. The rice was missing. Wewent back in and they said we didn't order rice. I never was a given a receipt to prove otherwise. My nephew really wanted it,so I humbled my angered self to buy it (again). I would rather (and have after this experience) travel for quality food andservice. The rice was ok. The canoa's plantain was too firm, not even ripe enough for sweetness. The pics are of the longedafter "freshly made alcapurrias". They were overcooked and dried out. Read more
