I have never been to this place. It isn't in my neighborhood. I searched Google for a nearby restaurant and this was the closest... to me. I am pleasantly satisfied with my fried cod, fries with gravy and seasoned wings. The coffee was hot and fresh. Autumnwas my server and she did a wonderful job of checking in and keeping my coffee filled. The establishment itself, from theoutside, doesn't look like anything special. But let me say, the staff and the food are a hidden treasure!! Very happy and Iwill definitely come back if I am in the area again!! Read more
First time there. Stopped by for a later dinner; they close at 8, got there about 7:10.. the COD fish sandwich I ordered was... SO fishy tasting.. I asked the server if I was given the wrong type of fish, maybe whiting or something other than COD. Shesaid she put in for COD so that's what I got then walked away. I was very skeptical of the piece of fish on the bun because notonly did it taste FISHY (unlike COD) it was more on the flat side (unlike COD). She didn't offer to take it back nor hear whatI wanted to tell her about it. The other staff I also encountered were not friendly at all-not welcoming as if I was botheringthem. They gave off the impression that they were in a rush to leave for the night making it very apparent by their constantstares and that made me feel even more uncomfortable and unwelcome. I've been going here for a long time. My aunt used to work here. The food was very good. My favorite was the liver and onions.... It was delicious, very tender to which it almost melts in your mouth. The fried ice cream was huge but extremely tasty. Irecommend anyone to try it. If you like chocolate try the chocolate martini , you will enjoy it. Read more
I respect that this place is a staple in the community however in food quality, service, atmosphere and every other way you... could possibly rate a restaurant this establishment lacks proper passion to outperform the 100s of other restaurants inPittsburgh and that's probably why I have never once had someone suggest this business to me. The food tasted great and had large portions. I ordered a steak that came with two sides. I got applesauce and fries, and the... amount of food that came out for me was easily enough for two people! They gave us popcorn when we sat down, and I probablywouldn?t have eaten any of I knew how much food was going to come out! Read more
