Stopped here specifically for the vegan pasties, which were hearty and so good! If you want to eat these pies on site, Irontown... needs one hour to cook them for your arrival! Worth it to call ahead. Vegan crust filled with tofu, potatoes, carrots, broccoli,cauliflower, nutritional yeast, onion, and garlic. They were out of the spicy vegan pasties by 1 pm. This was our first try at pasties in the Upper Pennisula. Located on a fairly busy corner. Parking can be a bit tricky as it's... adjacent to a road that runs behind it. Quite a few options for pasties here. We had 2 beef ones. My first experience withrutabaga, bit like a potato. Drier than anticipated, but the ketchup helped. The pasties and turnovers are great and the selection of varieties is nice. I like that there are gluten free pasties, as that... is a rarity. The owner hires the younger kids to give them a first job, and as a result the service is pretty kind andwonderful. I make it a point on my vacations to stop by here, even if I'm 90 minutes out of the way. Don't miss out on this gem. Read more
This place was recommended to us by a local. We have tried many pasties over the years we come up to the Marquette area. These... pasties are the best ever. The crust is perfect and they are filled with a lot beef and vegetables. I could only eat half at atime. My wife is the pastie expert and she agrees.... Best ever! Read more
I'm going back tomorrow to pick up 6 or 8 frozen pasties to take back home in lower Michigan. These pasties are the best of the... best! What my wife and I love about these pasties is the amount of meat and veggies inside these things. Many other pastymakers make the dough / crust so thick. These pasties are chocked full of the good stuff! I found my favorite place forpasties. They even offer gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options!!!
