Tried 2 different tea service within the allotted 90 minute. Overall the service and ambiance was great. The server pours the... hot water for infusion. Only the server can pour the water. The times between each infusion was too long. Wish we could haveenjoyed more. So many great tea options; however would have liked maybe a top 10 tea list. Menu was hard to navigate. Read more

I only had time to visit one teahouse on this visit to NYC, and I am so thankful I chose Floating Mountain. Incredible tea, a... beautiful, peaceful setting, and a lovely gong fu session with an extremely knowledgeable and friendly host. I'm bringing homeseveral of their teas to brew on my own, but I will definitely be returning every time I'm back in the city--thank you, FloatingMountain! Read more

Extensive selection of teas from China brewed the right way, tastes as complex as a good book or cocktail. The environment was... very clean, respectful, shoes off when you first come in. Hostess was really friendly and helpful explaining the terms. Weshared a pot that lasted 5+ brews. Only thing is that time flies too fast in there with good company. Read more

Upper west side oasis. Peaceful and calming tea house serving strictly Chinese teas with a wide selection. Prices are $30-60 per... pot and seating is all on the floor. It is very quiet and calming and great opportunity to try a unique tea from china. Mostteas will be able to be steeped many times allowing you to easily spend an hour relaxing. Definitely recommend for a unique teaexperience in nyc. There is no food offered or allowed in. Read more

The ambiance is very comforting, quiet, service is attentive (I believe the owner served us), and the tea is exceptional! The... menu is really long so I suggest taking your time to read it. Only reason I'm not giving this place 5 stars is because of allthe rules it has, and the hesitancy I would feel asking someone to come with me and abide by those rules. These include takingyour coat off, shoes off, not bringing any food (the place doesn't sell food), and not using sugar in the tea. It's also notideal that the bathroom is in the basement and that in order to go to it, you need to put your shoes back on, and when you'reback, take them off again. Read more

they have a great selection of chinese teas! the interior design and atmosphere are very nice as well. this is a nice place to... chill, alone or with a friend. this is small, but it would have been nice if the music fit the vibe of the cafe a littlebetter. However, the experience overall was very good and i would definitely recommend floating mountain to any tea lovers!??????????? Read more
