Never again! $25 for a less-than-half-filled container of pasta and a third of a piece of bread and a gondola. Prices have... increased %50+ and portions have shrunk %50+. What used to be a Bloomington Normal landmark has turned into a joke. One star. Read more

Avanti is a landmark. They have been here for more than 40 years. The menu is pretty much the same - according to my mom. It is... a comfort food for the students at ISU. The Italian bread is very good - people came by just to get them. The dinning area isclosed. But take out is available. You can order online. Read more

So this has been my goto place for a quick bite as I love the pizza bread. This hasn't changed in nearly 30 years. The only... downside is that the dining room is closed at this location due to staffing issues. Read more

Drove from Indianapolis for some Gondolas. Was surprised the bread tasted different, not sure if we got next day bread because... we stopped in about an hour before closing. We took 2 bites of sandwich & threw away. But the pizza was really good. I'm hopingthis was a fluke because my husband grew up with Avanti's that'd why we make the 3hr drive. Staff was very friendly as always Read more

My first and last time ordering from this place, the food was not very impressive and I was disappointed with the preparation .... The pasta was dry and the meat sauce was tasteless. Nothing could be compared to the advertisement even the gondola sandwicheswere hopeless three thin slices of ham and half a slice of salami and cheese no dressing. There wasn?t enough room in mymicrowave for all my family to put it in when they didn?t want to eat it. I wish I could get a refund!!! Read more

So this place was cheap and close, but overall pretty disappointing. The bread was delicious, but that's about it. My friend got... the fried ravioli app and it was good. Good texture/crunch without overcooking it or making it hard as a rock, but wasn't a hugefan of the meat filling. Between my friends and I, we got two tortellini with alfredo sauce, a lasagna, and two spaghetti andmeatballs. The meatballs were good as well, but then everyone was disappointed with their sauce. I was the least bothered by mysauce, but I wouldn't consider it an Alfredo sauce. It tasted more like recipes where they use cream of mushroom soup as a baseinstead of cream and a roux. I added baked chicken to my tortellini Alfredo and found it to be inedible. I don't know what itwas seasoned with, but I didn't like it. A friend did fried chicken on his and he liked the fried chicken, but disliked theAlfredo sauce so much he didn't finish his meal. No one ate their leftovers. Read more

Stopped in for a bite to eat while traveling south from Chicago. Unfortunately the store did not have indoor dining based on the... lack of staff. We ordered some food and ate in the car. Food was good, however it seemed like too much water in the containerfrom sauce or noodles. We were just glad they were open. Read more

I'd heard rave reviews of this place from former students living in Normal. I kinda wish we could have been seated in the... dining room but all that was open when we got there was the carry out counter. Having heard their "Gondola" sandwich was "thebomb", my grandson and I each got the large. I am sure it is more than a foot long, in any event. Even my football playinggrandson couldn't finish his in one sitting. AND they had raspberry ice tea, so there is always that to go back for, as well. If you are in town, you really ought to stop in.
