I was really disappointed to find out they switched wings. The old ones were so good, I told everyone about how great they are.... These new ones are garbage! Weird extra bones in them, quality is just terrible. I honestly wish things didn't change so muchthere. It's obvious they're going cheaper with the food. Sad. Read more

Oakbank Bar & Grill is the last place I would recommend. We visited this establishment the other week. Had a terrible experience... with our waitress, who was both inattentive and rude. We ordered the "Build Your Own Platter" for $30.99, where you chose anythree starters under $14. We had two orders of Chicken Wings for $13.99 each and one order of Jalapeño Poppers for $11.99. Ourwaitress failed to tell us that Jalapeño Poppers are supposedly a "premium item" that "do not work with the platter deal". Thisis NOT stated anywhere on their menu, and we were NOT informed about this before ordering. This incident resulted in our mealbeing overcharged. When we questioned the waitress about the bill, she immediately started having an attitude and using poorlanguage choices. She claimed that this information was stated on the menu, however, it is NOT. The waitress was extremelyargumentative so we paid the bill in full despite being overcharged and asked to speak with someone from management. Anotherstaff approached us and let us know that the manager was unavailable. We were told to come back tomorrow despite living 50minutes away from the establishment. After discussing the issues with management via phone call over the course of a week, wewere told Oakbank Bar & Grill was unwilling to refund this money, or provide us with a gift card of the same value. Theestablishment offered a 25% discount for our next meal. This is not an adequate solution for the problem. The overpayment shouldhave been refunded immediately. It is disgusting that a local business such as this one is okay with stealing money from theircustomers. We will NOT be returning to Oakbank Bar & Grill. Extremely underwhelmed. Inattentive waitress, slow service. Measly portions. Ordered an entree sized Taco Salad @ $16. Said it... had cheese, tomatoes, olives, I chose the hamburger option, onions, jalapenos and garlic toast. It was a medium sized 6" platewith some lettuce, a few shreds of cheese, they forgot the olives and about 2 tbsp of burger and about a tbsp of dressing.Waited...waited...waited for our pokey waitress to come back out so we could begin some feedback (which she never asked) only tohave to go look for her inside (twice), finding her leaning in a bench, chatting. Unapologetically, she shuffled her way backoutside... eventually. When mentioned that the salad was severely underportioned, she stared blankly, offering no solutionsother than stating that "it was all portion controlled" and she "couldn't do anything about it". We asked for a manager and weretold there wasn't a manager present and offered an info card to contact at a later date. At this point, we knew it was futile tofind a solution and begged her to bring more Burger and dressing to balance the totally skimpy salad. Upon paying, anotherunpleasant surprise, we were charged an additional $1 for an extra tbsp of dressing and $3 for another 2 tbsp of burger withoutdiscussion. Left hungry and paid almost $20 for nothing much better than a side salad. Total waste of time and money! We missthe old owners. Service is terrible. Not that busy after the lunch hour, we waited for 10 minutes without greetings all the while the staff was... on their phones, and the manager was just sulking around looking totally uninterested in any of the customers. One table evengot up to being their orders back due to the kitchen but no one came Rongelap them out. Went to the bar last night. I asked the server if we could have 2 menus and she told me we could share one. First red flag. We... had asked if the pizza was thin crust and she told us all the pizzas were thin. it came out thick crust. When we asked about itshe told is that we were wrong and that it is indeed a thin crust pizza. (See photo) We had also ordered two orders of wings of"flats" which is not normal I would admit. We ended up getting the wings 30 minutes after the pizza and only 1 order not andthey were both flats and drums. It appears they forgot to punch it in and the wrong order. When I questioned the rest of themistakes and pointed it out to our server (red hair). She informed me she was a manager she saw no issue and didn't resolve oroffer to fix anything. During a visit to the Bar and grill in Oakbank, MB on July 2, 2022 after a 3 hr. Trail ride we decided to go and have something... to eat. What a mistake. First off everything was going fine. Then after we ordered. The food was brought to us on the deck. I had wings and in serving the food. The waitress gave me 1 napkin with my wings. I had to go inside and ask for more waterand about the wipes and extra napkins. I found the waitress leaning onto a bench and talking to someone else. I had to askagain. My friend ordered a salsa salad. While she had mostly lettuce hardly no cheese to speak off and also hardly nohamburger, and no salsa sauce. Also, some other ingredients were missing. The waitress didn?t even come out to ask how thingsare. When she finally came out with the napkins and wipes, we asked for more dressing and if that was all the hamburger. Sheinformed us the hamburger was of portion size. Enough for a bird. So, my friend asked for more hamburger. The waitress neveronce informed my friend of the extra cost for the hamburger or the salad dressing. In talking with the waitress, we asked totalk to the manager. She informed us that she didn?t have one. I informed her that she has to have a manager. The waitresscame and gave us a business card for the owner of the bar and grill in order to send in an email to the owner. The waitressshould take a course on how to be a waitress the she wouldn?t have wonder why she never got a tip. In paying the bill we thenfound out that there was an extra charge of .99 for the dressing and then they also charge $2.99 for the 1/4 cup hamburger. Weagain asked to talk to a manager she found one on the restaurant side. I also had to ask 3 times for my receipt for my wing?smeal. The manager was no help with an apology or anything else. Pretty good breakfast at a reasonable price. Large portion. Food and service were nice. We came here because of another... reviewers comment about dogs being allowed in but that is not the case. Service dogs only (which is the law anyways). Staff wasfriendly enough to give us a bowl of water for the dog that had to be left in the car. 4/5. Read more
