My first time trying this place, but treated my friend for her birthday dinner. We chose the Magical Dining special. Food was... very bland and did not seem fresh. My whipped potatoes had a crust on the outside like they were reheated on the plate. Thechicken cordon blue was taste less. I'd have been happier with a frozen Barber version. My friend had the filet tips which weredescribed as "like beef stew" by the server. The carrots were good, but the beef had the texture of canned dog food. Ourserver did a good job but the food was huge disappointment. My friend mentioned it tasted like it was out of a can and theserver apologized. Huge waste of $100! Read more

My 1st experience. I have traveled past the restaurant for years. The experience & food was okay. I had the vegetarian option... and it was a bit different (prep, plating & presentation). The ambiance of the restaurant is great. Staff was pleasant. Thewaiter reminded us that if we wanted souffle to order it upfront so that it won't be as long of a wait. We felt like the priceof what we had was a bit exorbitant for the food and drinks. Souffle was tasty. Read more

Went to Le Coq Au Vin restaurant the Magical Dining Event for the $40 3 course meal. I had the seafood crepe as a appetizer... and it had delicious seafood in the crepe. I had the golden tile fish for the entrée. It was very tender, moist and had a goodlemon flavor sauce in the plate served with carrots and mashed potatoes. A very good fish meal. For desert I added the extra $10for the grand marnier soufflé. It was well worth it. Iwas so good! Light , airy, smooth texture with a great taste. Le Coq AuVin is a well known, prize winning fine dining French restaurant in a simple unassuming building on Orange Ave. Check itout. By the way Le Coq Au Vin roughly means a chicken stew in wine sauce in English. Read more

After a few great experiences in the 90’s I had high expectations for our return visit the first weekend of magical dining. I... chose the filet with blue cheese crust off the regular menu and it couldn’t have been more than a 4-ounce piece of steak. For$50. The taste was okay at best, admittedly diminished by what I was paying for it. Other members of our group got beef burgundyand the fish from the magical dining menu, and the consensus was that they were decent, but not worth the price. My expectationswith service include keeping the drinks from sitting empty and clearing plates soon after finishing my food. Sadly, neither ofthese happened. A couple in our party had their entree plates sitting in front of them for at least 20 minutes after finishing. For dessert, my wife got the strawberry shortcake for dessert. Dry and unimpressive. I ended up sharing my lava cake with her, which was easily the best thing off the menu. Overall, this experience was a massive disappointment. This place used to be oneof the best in town, and it seems their best days are behind them. Read more

I believe the only positive of this restaurant was the very warm welcome from the lady hostess and also from the server. Both... we’re truly genuinely nice. The rest was 1 star. We are such foodies and tonight we kinda force our self because it was our 4year wedding anniversary ( very nice touch complimentary champagne glass) very disappointed. First error was, we ordered a $50bottle of red wine. We requested the one on the menu Cabernet Sauvignon (my husband favorite) The server brought D availableCabernet Sauvignon without telling us it was not the one on the menu after he opened it I have realized that it was not the onelisted on the menu and he said yes this one is one that was brought today it’s not on the menu yet so because I felt bad Iaccepted the $50 bottle of wine but taste it like Kool-Aid but after a full day of work I truly need a glass of wine and Ididn’t want to waste a bottle so I excepted to drink the wine that was not on the menu the wine was called Papi it’s a nineor $10 version cheap wine from Chile. I would say that the appetizer was OK the shrimp were perfectly cook but the scallop weredefinitely frozen scallops and not fresh for the main course I wanted their braised scallops but they were not available so Iordered their duck which was not enjoyable at all I only ate it because I was hungry and it was 8:45PM, they’re mashed potatotasted like mashed potato with no seasoning at all and the carrots were almost raw carrots. The Grand Marnier soufflé wasactually good … again the people that serve us were very nice but this was our first time and definitely our last time. For$240 with the tip, this restaurant is trying to be a gastronomique restaurant with gastronomic price but is definitely far frombeing gastronomic. the place is also very old, for an example when you go to the bathroom you can see that the wall are actuallyrusted and painted with probably black spray can, very sad and one of many details that this restaurant needs so Read more

Fantastic experience! From the moment we stepped into to restaurant, all the way till the end our experience was great. The... owner is a very sweet person. Ron, our server was very professional and nice. The food was delicious. We even got champagne as acomplementary. I will recommend Le Cow Au Vin to anyone who wants a great experience from the beginning to the end. Read more

Not sure why this place has such high reviews. We got magical dining and the portions were so tiny and bland. Each dish was... accompanied by unimpressive sides like unsalted sprial pasta or limp broccoli. The chicken they are known for was extremelytough (and it's been that way for the 3 times we've come here trying to redeem it). The escargot had some sand it it too. Onthe positive side the decor is very elegantly home-y and nice. And the complimentary bread was very, very good. The creme Brulewas very nice too. Read more
