Osteria Toscana in downtown Palo Alto was a fine experience enjoying pleasant Italian food. We got started with the... complimentary bread which was freshly baked and easy to chew. The pasta I ordered (forgot the name but it's like a lasagna dishand fully vegetarian) was incredible, from the sauce and cheese to the flavors in the pasta and the portion size was generous. Our server, Jorge, was fantastic from start to finish, checking on us regularly and getting our orders out quite quickly. Thisis definitely on the pricier side, but it's worth it for the food and ambience. Parking is a bit tricky but in addition tostreet parking there's a garage a couple blocks away with free parking. Highly recommend this place. Read more

Lovely food...we sat outside and with a delightful briny breeze, the dinner was memorable. The young gentleman who took our... orders was extra careful with a vegetarian like me...he confessed that mostly, he too preferred to be a vegetarian...theselittle interactions with people who work in a place makes it that much more of a special occasion! I was dining solo (which I do not love doing but am getting used to), and the friendliness of the staff, ambiance, vast menu,... and delicious food will make me a return guest for sure. I waited a moment for a table outside, and received a complimentaryglass of wine - which was unnecessary but so very appreciated! I asked for recommendations from my server and took him up onhis suggestion for the pesto ravioli special. It was superb. Thank you again! Read more

Great lamb chops. It pops a lot with some fresh peppers. But the tiramisu was not so good, cream on top was a bit too much and... too sweet, plus it tastes weird. Read more

We came here for lunch and had an excellent meal. Was not crowded on a Saturday afternoon. The menu doesn’t have a lot of... vegetarian options but the ones they have were good enough that we can see ourselves ordering those every time we come here. Wegot the Malasana del Vegetariano which is an excellently cooked eggplant much better than most eggplant Parmesan dishes. We alsohad a gnocchi with pesto; I sometimes don’t like pesto sauce but loved the creamy rich pesto in this one. Read more

The food and service here were outstanding. First they serve you a half a loaf of sliced sourdough bread with olive oil and... chopped olives. The menu is extensive with pastas and assorted anti-pasta dishes. The wait staff is very friendly andaccommodating as is the host. I had the poached salmon And steamed diced tomatoes with cream spinach. On the side of the platewas the young corn and beans cooked to perfection in butter and garlic. I would’ve tried one of their decrement desserts butthe only place I could put it was in my pocket. I don’t give five stars because that indicates that it’s absolutely perfectwith no room for improvement. Although this is as close to perfection as you can get. Read more
