Went to Iron to celebrate my 30th birthday, and out of those 30 years of life, this is some of the best food that I have ever... had. Our server, Jeff, was kind, knowledgeable, and anticipated our needs. The atmosphere was great, as we sat at the counterand were able to watch the chefs perform in the kitchen. Aries was our server and I must say, he was fabulous! We were here about two months ago and I felt the experience was quite... different then….a little more exciting! There were more food options and the presentation was better. Last night was just atypical dinner experience….not a bad thing, just meh! The gnocchi small plate did not disappoint….I always order this and Ilove it! The Caesar salad with hearts of palm, so crisp and fresh (the Caesar dressing is a tad too sweet for me, but it wasfine)….the plate of truffles fries FABULOUS (but all plates of truffle fries are fabulous)….the shrimp and grits wasdelicious (very flavorful and the roasted tomatoes added a little something special)…..my fillet was ok…..I ordered mediumrare and it was barely pink. The garlic butter medallion helped with the flavor, but otherwise, no complaints, just fine. Theirdrinks are always “over the top” and last night was no different. We will continue to dine here but we may decide to goduring weekends when there are more specials and the presentation gets bumped up a little bit. I was a little taken back when I saw how tight the restaurant was and that we were sat at a counter in front of the kitchen.... Well I quickly realized that was the best seat in the house. It was great to watch the chefs at work, but just know thisrestaurant doesn’t give you much privacy with your date. Despite that, Phenomenal dining experience. The gnocchi escargot appwas literally the best thing my husband and I ever put in our mouth. I will dream of it. His pork chop was incredible and myfish was light and delish. The drinks we’re awesome. So so sad I was too full for dessert. I can’t wait to come back. Thischef knows what’s up. Read more
Hands down, one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in the nation. Yes that’s right, the nation. The staff are all... incredible. The food is fantastic. The drinks were superb. Firstly I want to address the most hospitable person of our evening, Brenden. He was truly the epitome of southern charm and... added immensely to the ambiance of the evening. (He even thanked me for my service as an EMT- which honestly doesn’t happenever!) Hands down, he made my night. The food as always was the best the Pensacola area has to offer. Went to Iron last night and the food and service were absolutely top notch. Everything, including the drinks, was delicious.... Our server even sent us home with a complimentary slice of (heaven!) Icebox Nutella pie! Pictured are the Triple cheese whitetruffle fries, 12 oz pork schnitzel, braised lamb neck melt, and the smoked old fashioned (had to bite the amazing smoked baconfirst). Wow! I’d say just Wow! But it’s more then that. Certainly one of the top culinary experiences in the SouthEast. We ate... here both nights we were in town celebrating an anniversary. Excellent restaurant in downtown Pensacola. Read the reviews and they were stellar for a reason. We started with the smoked Old... fashion’s. They were amazing. The smoked bacon took it to another level. The mushroom and gnocchi appetizer did notdisappoint. Homemade and super tender, the gnocchi was the best I’ve had. The sauce took it over the top. I ordered the bonein strip. It came with a black truffle butter, perfectly cooked. I ordered the side of sweet potato mash and a Caesar salad.Both were satisfactory. My dining mate ordered the ribeye. Both steaks were seasoned well and absolutely delicious. I willdefinitely be back. The ambience is a chill vibe. Tables are a bit close but you learn to tune out your neighbor. Service wasfriendly and attentive. Read more
