Among the best Philadelphia restaurants - though the tasting could benefit from greater pacing and an end-of-meal treat (WILL... BYOB did Madeleine's, Eleven Madison Park does granola, Vespertine does a custom perfume, etc.). Other than these two comments,Ambra is a spectacular experience worth revisiting at least twice. The space is small and dark (think ambiance, not creepy) the food is interesting, tasty and fresh. Also super rich. This is not... a straight forward menu or wine pairing. Nothing here is typical, great special occasion spot!!! Read more
Inventive and creative modern Italian cuisine. Tasting menu only. Instead of the offered wine pairing (which would have been too... much wine for us) the sommelier suggested two wines to accompany our meal and that was perfect for us. I?ve seen other reviewstalking about the small portion size. True, but believe me, after six courses of small plates we were extremely full. I couldbarely finish. The price for two, with wine (2 glasses each) was about $280. Expensive, but, in my opinion, worth it for aspecial occasion. Service was impeccable. Kudos. Read more

Came here for dinner food was very good but overpriced. We looked at the menu online in expectation of the visit and the fixed... price menu was $65 when we arrived at the place handwritten on the menu was $72, this is not how you create a good firstimpression on a guest. We got a first course, pasta dish main dish and desert and a couple of small tastes in between. Somereally good flavors on the small dishes. Three days later I am struggling to remember what I had to eat, if I had something Ireally enjoyed or made a great impression I would have. Service was really good. We also got wine pairing for some of the guestsand they were nice match for the food. I don't think we will be back again soon. Maybe next year to give the place anotherchance. Read more
