Chilango is at the top of my list for my favorite places that I've tried in Portland so far. I had: -Hojaldre: this was a... pillowy-soft bun with mayo and jackfruit tinga and it was so delicious. The bun had a little sweet kick to it and the fillingwas so meaty and flavorful -3 quesadilla salsa sampler: 3 small almond queso fresco quesadillas paired with their three salsas:green, red, and Neta. The subtle differences between salsas were lovely. -3 tacos, two with tofu chicharrón and one tingasuadero with onions and lime juice. I think the tofu chicarrón was my fave but they were all so good. Chilango uses corn fortheir tortillas from @three_sisters_nixtamal and they were incredible. Among the very best vegan tacos in town! The Jackfruit based Tinga and Suadero have such a rich texture and flavor and I never... tire of snacking on the Garlicy Mushroom taco. If I could give this cart more stars I would! What an explosion of flavor, perfectly balanced textures, and exquisite almond... queso fresco. Best, authentic, vegan, Mexico City style tacos in town! You must try their tacos, quesadillas, esquites and pan de dulce. I've... tried the suadero, and tinga tacos, and you will never think that they are made of jackfruit.
