Chilango is at the top of my list for my favorite places that I've tried in Portland so far. I had: -Hojaldre: this was a... pillowy-soft bun with mayo and jackfruit tinga and it was so delicious. The bun had a little sweet kick to it and the fillingwas so meaty and flavorful -3 quesadilla salsa sampler: 3 small almond queso fresco quesadillas paired with their three salsas:green, red, and Neta. The subtle differences between salsas were lovely. -3 tacos, two with tofu chicharrón and one tingasuadero with onions and lime juice. I think the tofu chicarrón was my fave but they were all so good. Chilango uses corn fortheir tortillas from @three_sisters_nixtamal and they were incredible. Among the very best vegan tacos in town! The Jackfruit based Tinga and Suadero have such a rich texture and flavor and I never... tire of snacking on the Garlicy Mushroom taco. The salsa they top their tacos with is also amazing! I highly recommend the 4taco sampler and the spicy, sweet and tangy corn in the cup Esquites. So good. I?ll be back for sure. Read more

If I could give this cart more stars I would! What an explosion of flavor, perfectly balanced textures, and exquisite almond... queso fresco. I ordered the Chicharron y salsa Verde taco, the garlicky mushroom taco, and the mini salsa sampler quesadillas...I only wish I had ordered twice as much! Read more
First, I don?t eat out often, but at the behest of a good friend, we had lunch at Chilango Mexico City street food. I?m glad I... said yes. Chilango hits all the right notes as a brilliant food spot. The location is perfect, with cute seating arrangementssequestered between Baerlic Brewery (perfect excuse to wash a taco down with a beer). It offers an amazing selection of vegantacos (you must try all of them) and a friendly atmosphere. I believe this is where Chilango shines the most, in its staff. Weplaced our order with Vanessa, who greeted us warmly, and proceeded to have a fifteen-minute conversation about her food. Didyou know she uses SCRUM Agile workflow to run her kitchen? And she uses biochemistry to perfect her flavors? It?s amazing howmuch thought they put into their processes and food. Great location, amazing food, and brilliant staff? Wow! This is the BEST taco cart in Portland. If Vegan turns you off, get over that right now! These are expertly crafted,... AMAZING tacos that will make your mouth do a happy dance. Best, authentic, vegan, Mexico City style tacos in town! You must try their tacos, quesadillas, esquites and pan de dulce. I've... tried the suadero, and tinga tacos, and you will never think that they are made of jackfruit. While coversating with Vanessa shesays that it takes a whole process to make the jackfruit meaty juicy delicious flavor. I highly recommend Chilango PDX. Besidestheir amazing authentic ????????
