Don't skip Twisted Pig if you like good food and good prices with ample portions, and great service. Definitely off the beaten... track, but worth the detour if you're in town and need a proper BBQ fix. Can't decide? Get the sampler for the table - best ofeverything! I'd also ask what's on tap, cuz they change and they get amazing stuff like peanut butter stout. Need moredetails? - walk in from the street, seat yourself and a server will bring you a menu - jukebox works - it is a bar, so loudishmusic and a pool table Read more

We came to the twisted pig as a group to celebrate. It?s a nice little ?hole in the wall? location. Staff was amazing, food came... out quickly, they have. Bar and pool tables. Outdoor seating for smokers. I will say as a bbq lover the whole table agreed thatthe food was just ok, nothing to write home about. For my food personally, I will say I loved the potato skins and hush puppiesbut brisket was dry and food could use more seasoning. Read more

The server was great but if you call yourself a ?smokehouse? you should actually smoke your own food got the sampler and was... disappointed with every thing on the plate. If you like dive bar food then it?s the place for you but actual smoked meat gosomewhere else. The picture attached is the ?brisket? I was served?. Read more

Sorta outside the box BBQ place. Variety on the menu. Got the pulled pork. The pork is legit. Three kinds of sauce including... North Carolina vinegar. The slaw was a very different flavor. They also had pickled onion on the plate as an extra. Verydifferent and pickly. Sweet with some sort of odd taste I couldn't place. The bad. No chicken that day. No Brunswick stew. Saidit was seasonal on the menu. Waitress said it was no longer going to be carried. Sad. Moved to here from Georgia and keeplooking for some good stew. Guess I'll have to keep looking. Read more

The food- amazing! The service- great! The drinks- boozy and delicious! This place is the perfect mix between a bbq joint and... bar. I wasn?t expecting how great the brisket is. The drinks are loaded and staff are wonderful and helpful. The location ofthis shop may be its only downfall in my opinion, but whoever decorated put their heart into it. This is not a high classplace, but it?s perfect for your lunch or dinner needs. Please check them out next time you?re feeling hungry or thirsty Read more

Legit my new favorite place. Food is excellent, fully-stocked bar and a great ?roadside? atmosphere. A must stop if you?re a... BBQ aficionado and near Portsmouth. Pro tip: if you?re out riding around on your bikes with your buddies, this is the kind ofplace you?ll want to hit. Read more

Twisted Pig has the charm of a neighborhood hangout with a diverse mixed crowd , pool tables & TVs ,as well as a juiced up... jukebox with a good play list .Food is ok ( some things simply need better seasoning ) portions are good size .Service is great!! *Summer the waitress/ Bartender was nice & friendly had the Brisket dip sandwich ( not bad good bread but was missingsomething) with a side of homemade mash potatoes ( needed salt ) but nice consistency. My spouse had the Meat loaf sandwichwhich is huge !! had a really good side sauce that was a kind of sweet & Heat combo on it asked for side of it in fact....( themeat loaf sandwich again needed a better seasoning profile as it was just bland and maybe the object is for you to get all theflavoring from the sauce ,but that is a disservice from how signature that sandwich could be with some basic spices tocompliment that wonderful sauce ! Side of fries were crispy & delicious ( those were well seasoned).Oh yeah forgot we startedoff with the fried green tomatoes for a app and although they weren't the best ones I've ever had they had a unique breading (I'm guessing cornmeal base ) that had a nice coating & a lil kick with the dipping sauce made them interesting .Overall theexperience was good, and seems like a place you can have a few friends get a beer and grub after work type feel or you and yoursignificant other could just hit while out for a quick bite on the way out on the town.
