I go here almost every Thursday for lunch but I order from the dinner menu. EVERYTHING on the menu is amazingly delicious ????.... The owner Sammy and his son Nick are always super kind and welcoming, they provide excellent customer service. They create sucha family-friendly atmosphere which besides the food, makes you want to go back often. They also have a superb selection ofwines. My wife and I just got home from Averna and we’re blown away by the superb quality. Apps were Caesar salad and fried calamari,... both were excellent. Dinner was the ribeye with home fries, my wife ordered the chili glazed salmon and both were great. In factthis is the first time in a while that I was totally satisfied with a high end steakhouse. I could smell the aged scent of thesteak as they served it, the home fries were crisp with a hint of spice. Recently hosted a party at Averna and all my guests raved about the food and service. "This was the most delicious food I've... had..." was the predominant comment among our guests. While the Porterhouse is their signature dish and cooked to perfection,the Salmon dell' Carlo was the favorite. Sammy and Nick were superb and Eera was not far behind getting some candids. I wanted to really love the food here so much because of how many great reviews they have. Me and my husband were there last... night we had reservations for 8pm and were promptly seated once we checked in with the host. We were seated by the door wherethe food comes out I imagine near the kitchen, at first I was a bit nervous because they were coming out with hit food and veryclosed to me after they dropped a fork on my foot and a couple of glass of wine I had relaxed more. Our waiter B explained whatthe specials were for the night and he did a good job taken care of us. We started with the bacon and the tuna tartare and thisis why they get two starts only because that was the most decent dishes we had plus the service. We then had their wedge saladwhich it was just ok, so I figured it’s a salad so let’s move on. I was so excited to try their halibut which it was thespecial for the night and my husband had the Bone in NY strip, we decided to go that route so we can try different dishes forthe side we got the cream of corn and mashed potatoes. So let me start by saying the halibut was very very dry and had noflavor, the steak came out Luke warm which I was very surprised since every steak plate that was coming out was coming outsizzling. A gentleman in a great suit came to our table and ask how was our food I then proceeded to tell him that our food wasnot hot he then apologize and took the steak plate and I guess they warmed it up for us because then it became too done for usother high end restaurants would have done this different.We then just went with the flow at that point just wanted to finishedwhatever we could eat and just finished our bottle of wine. I have been going to Averna since the day they opened and I can honestly say they serve the best food in Rye. The place is... clean, the food is amazing and the drinks are to die for. The waiters are prompt and the hospitality exceeds all my expectationseverytime. The waiters and staff are super friendly and attentive. I have a business in town and I bring all my clients andbusiness partners over because I know Averna will never disappoint.
