Great tasting food with excellent service from the waters/waitresses but with the new buffet style service, you dont take... leftovers home anymore sadly. In addition, some people got sick afterwards, enough to merit contacting the management. Theirresponse seemed automated, and also protected them on a legal standpoint but was lacking in care towards their customers ingeneral. Just this alone makes it so I won't eat there again or recommend it to anyone else. Read more

My husband made a reservation for 4 families thinking we would have a more gourmet sugar shack experience. Unfortunately all our... kids and most of the adults ended with food poisoning and experiencing vomiting and fever within 48 hours after attending therestaurant. On top of that, it was quite expensive! I feel so bad that I recommended this place to my friends to celebrate mybirthday and we ended up feeling this way. ???? Read more

Not the same sugar shack as before ? the food used to be an incredible gourmet experience! I?ve been dreaming of eating their... food for the last 2 years. Ate at the new location. Price is slightly lower than before. Prepayment is required for areservation. Drinks were good. Experience is now buffet style. The food is nowhere near the level of the old location. Loudmusic for the 5 pm crowd. Finished the night with an awkward lecture about tipping from the waiter. I loved the old locationand the food. You must adjust your expectations as it?s now basic. Probably appeals to more people. Unfortunately, we lost agem. I won?t be running back. Read more

Huge scam! Not the same sugar shack as it was pre-covid. This place use to be amazing with fresh food cooked and served to each... table. The food isn?t the same and not even anywhere close to being on par to what it once was. They have the audacity to beposting on social media still the same meals the old location with the previous owner would serve. 60$ for stale food buffetstyle that you could get anywhere else for a quarter of the price. Do yourself a favour and go anywhere else but here. Use tocome to this sugar shack for over 10 years was one of the best in the Provence. It would stand out and held it?s name because ofthe gourmet food. Now it?s just a scam. I seriously hope the owners read these reviews. I would be embarrassed. you guys needto step it up multiple notches. If your budget is an excuse to be serving stale food to your clients maybe get rid of your liveband. People are coming for the cuisine not a live performance. Read more

This USED TO BE my favorite sugar shack, we would look forward to it every year. However, this is not the same place. They used... to have the best food and service around, for which I was happy to pay $60. Now, they still charge $60, but they have possiblythe worst food I've had at a sugar shack and the worst service to go with it. $60 for undercooked beans, and cocktail wienersdrowned in maple syrup. Wow, talk about value. Oh, and it's now BUFFET style. All that means is that you need to go wait in linefor women who clearly hate working there to plop your food on your plate. I wish that's the end of it, but no. At the end, theperson who told you where to go get your food demands you tip them, or else they lose money to taxes. Yes, tip, for literallydoing nothing. They didn't bring water, we had to ask them to bring us the right amount of cutlery, and they had the audacity toguilt us into tipping them? How dare they even call themselves "servers". I have advice for you, the person looking this placeup on Google, and that's to go somewhere else. Literally, anywhere else. And advice for the "servers" as well, who feel likethey need to remind their patrons 4+ times to tip before even bringing the bill, go work somewhere else. Literally, anywhereelse. You won't make money working at a place like this. To the new owner, enjoy what will hopefully be a short time scammingpeople out of their money by using a name they all trusted. You'll surely be out of business soon with $9 food at a $60 pricetag. Read more

3 stars because I'm comparing it to what it was like in 2019 before COVID at the old location (not at the ski resort). In the... past, it wasn't buffet (all you can eat style). We were served portions for the table. There was more variety of food andeverything was delicious. What happened to the maple sugar cotton candy? The macaroons? The maple syrup alcoholic drink? Foodand service was still good, but not on par with our previous visit. Read more

2022 season, they changed location and everything isn't the same anymore. It's at the Mont Blanc ski resort and parking is... always full. At least they have a shuttle bus if you park in further parking spot, but it's just a bad experience to start with. The price got ridiculously higher and the menu suffered; not a good combination. The menu is served buffet style; nopresentation try to stuff everything on your plate. The food is OK at best but to get a better experience you have to orderother stuff à-la-carte and your bill just get higher. The service is good and people are welcoming; at least this is stillgood. Oh, and the maple syrup snow candy experience is just an outside stand now... with maple syrup being boiled on a portablestove at the corner of the building. Hope they get better with time.
