Superb service ! We rented the downstairs room for a 10 person private event and the waiter Felix was really nice and... accommodating despite some of our guests showing up fashionably late. I was looking for something good to eat on the south shore. I ended up in St lambert and finally selected Bidon for dinner. The... place was somewhat busy but wasn?t packed. I found parking right in front of the restaurant. This was a good sign. Dimly litthe restaurant had a rustic feel. Music was playing in the background. Little did I know that the ambiance was set for an epicmeal which was about to begin. We ordered: short ribs, crusted iceland cod and for the kids; chicken nuggets and burger andfries. The short rib was so tender, and loaded with rich marbling and full of flavour. The chimichurri sauce and marinatedshallots paired nicely with the beefy flavour of the short rib, adding a fresh and bright taste to the overall A+ dish. It wasthoughtful of them to ensure the dish had a healthy starch and veggies (mashed sweet potatoes, and glazed carrots) The aroma ofthe pine nut butter and burnt oranges infused well with the light flavour profile of the Iceland cod. At first we didn?t expectthis restaurant to cater to kids as the menu does not have a kids section. Fortunately we were wrong. They do have meal optionsfor kids. When most restaurants cook for kids, the food is bland and terrible. Not at Bidon. The kids meals were actually verygood!The burger was so moist and juicy. The chicken nuggets were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The fries werecrispy and lightly salted. The kids really enjoyed their meals. The CHOCOLATE FONDANT with salted caramel sauce and vanilla icecream was rich, luxurious, fat-filled, highly caloric and possibly downright bad for me. But it was sooo good. After countless visits, over many years, we have never had an unpleasant experience. The service is always excellent. Our... waitress was very knowledgable with their private import wines and very attentive to our table. The food is always amazing. Top notch eaterie. The burger was perfectly charred and the fries were just crisp enough. The Caesar salad was interesting and... delicious. Fish and chips are up there with the best of them. Amazing Valentine's Day dinner at Bidon. They were able to offer us great recommendations and detail oriented service. The food... was delightful especially the scallop/duck appetizer which blew me away - the flavours complimented each other perfectly and theduck was so tender. The tartare was also really really good! They were attentive to give us an English speaking server, refillwater constantly, and the atmosphere was also fitting for a special occasion.
