Last night my husband and I drove up to Sarasota from North Port for a date night. We first drove out to Siesta Key but it was... way to busy so as we drove down Osprey to get to Downtown we found Veronica's totally on accident. So glad we took the chance totry something new. We didn't have a reservation but were able to get right in. Our waitress was beyond amazing and was sowelcoming. My husband got the Catch of the Day and I got the Skirt Steak. Such a fun spot! I was with three girlfriends and we sat inside at a corner window table. Sue was our (fabulous!) server. The... cocktails were good. The wine list has plenty of good selections. I had the avocado crab appetizer and it was fabulous! Fordinner I had the special which was halibut served alongside the most interesting and delicious salad; arugula, cilantro, mintand lump crab. Fabulous dinner & service at Veronica Fish & Oyster on Wednesday. It was even better because I had actually left another... restaurant that apparently thought they couldn't be bothered to serve a person eating alone. The other place seated me, took mydrink order but never returned. The server passed by me several times helping the other tables & literally ignored me. I satthere for 20 minutes. There is no excuse for that type of behavior. In comparison, I was asked several times at Veronica how Iwas doing, did I need anything, etc. Timing of everything was perfect!! CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ALIVE AND WELL!! Came here for my birthday dinner and we had great service and amazing food!! Will... definitely return!! We were given a complimentary glass of champagne after being told it would be just a few minutes for ourtable to be ready. Shortly there after we were seated in the middle of the dinning room, which has very nice ambiance! Ourserver Adam was great! Very knowledgeable and prompt. Overall Top 2 of our favorite SRQ restaurants! Food was delicious! From the moment we walked in the door, the magic began! Friendly hostess, beautiful ambiance & our server, Parker was just... lovely with her attention & level of service! Food was fresh, piping hot & absolutely delicious. Portions were generous,beautifully plated & of course infused with flavor! Save room for dessert because it also was incredible.
