We came here because the brewery up the road had a 45 minute wait and reviews were good. La Mexicana did not dissapoint. Plates... were about $10-$15 each and they came with plenty of food. Free first basket of chips and sals, but seconds are extra. Iappreciate this because it did not spoil my actual entree, otherwise I would be tempted to house those chips. I ordered theToquitos Dorados (I think this is what they were called), something I have not seen on a mexican menu before. The tortillas werefried to perfection, a crunchy golden brown. The wait staff was happy to let me get 2 chicken taquitos and 2 cheese taquitos,even though the menu asks you to have one or the other. We all loved our food, it was delicious! The wait staff was so friendlyand very neighborly; they were happy to help us. Drinks were cheap and margaritas were sizeable! Like really, really big.Definitely worth the value. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the salsa served with the chips, but that was my personalpreferences. The bottled hot sauces were more my speed, and they were much better in my opinion. We found this place out of the blue back in October 2020. The food was tasty. The chips were fresh and crunchy. Yes, the salsa... was hot as well and well wash with a cold beer. Definitely stopping here again when we visit Devils Lake this year. Bonus. Niceview of the Wisconsin River if you eat at the back of the restaurant. Read more
Wow I was highly impressed on how good and flavorful the food was I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants some... real authentic Mexican food. The one thing I would change is the seat yourself have the server seat people so it's a littleless hectic in the restaurant. However the steak taco and ground beef I ordered was very very good keep up the great food alsoa very friendly staff. Read more
