We were a party of 5, and sat for 45 minutes before we got menus. I ordered a glass of Chianti, as did one other person in our... party. My husband order a beer on tap, and the other two people had water. After an hour, we ordered our food. My husbandordered Spaghetti Bolognese with a little extra spice, and the other couple in our group ordered the same dish without extraspice, to split. The fifth member of our party ordered Chicken Parm. Two hours into the experience we got our food, but thespicy dish was given to the couple who didn’t want spicy. When they traded dishes with my husband, we saw the dishes wereswitched. My husband casually mentioned the error to the owner/waiter. The man denied that there was any mistake, and debatedthe issue with my husband, finally blaming him! The friend who ordered the chicken said the sauce was good, but the chicken wasrubbery. The waiter/owner simply said he couldn’t believe it. When we finally finished our meals, we were charged for twoglasses of Chianti. I told the owner/ waiter and he told me he brought me two glasses of wine, and argued the point with me. Istated when I ordered the wine I would only have one since I was driving. After more argument from our esteemed waiter/owner, hetook the second wine that I never had off the check. It was a meal to remember for all the wrong reasons. Will not be returningto La Torretta. Went out for Italian last night end ended up with food poisoning :/ I had cramps within 10 mins of taking two bites of the... “Eggplant Parmesan”.. First off- The eggplant parm seemed microwaved and was slimy, gooey and tasted terrible! It wasdefinitely old. The noodles were a bit hard and the entire dish was sitting in a bath of water.. the server came by and quicklyasked how the food was and I said not good and he walked away as quickly as he arrived. When we finally got his attention and Itold him my food was terrible he blamed me and said I didn’t tell him when he asked previously. Smfh worst service and foodI’ve had in awhile. #LaTorretaItalian was a total bust. 2/10 because the undercooked and unseasoned veggies were actuallygood. Hire a chef who actually cares about what’s leaving, hire servers who are more about quality control than tellingcustomers the Bad Food Quality is our fault. Although this place is fairly pricey, you are getting what you paid for. The service was excellent, our waiter explained all the... dishes, made allergy accomodations, and was generally a warm and funny guy. What a great authentic, family owned restaurant. From the music to the food and not to mention the service, everything made the... experience fantastic. Darius was an exceptional server.
