Just Wow. drove 7 miles off I-39 for breakfast. What a great move. Yes, local place, yes great service, yes good food. But.... but Great food! My wife's eggy biscuit looked good and she said was very good. My Mexican skillet was fantastic. Base ofAmerican fries with bell and jalapeno peppers. And chorizo!! It was as good as from my own skillet on a laid-back Sundaymorning. I will try to recreate this dish!! Great service. We will take this 7 mile trip again!! Read more
Literally the only place to eat in a 10 Mile radius if you don't wanna drive to Dekalb. Doesn't mean its mediocre, I'm just... saying its good for what it is and the area. Never had an issue and nothing makes me more comfortable than coming back andeating in a small town Read more
This was not my place....I had to wait for any one to come to table .they where talking to other customers and who nose what... else..they has some customers but someone could have said..( someone will be with you soon). I bought 2 meals one for dinner. Iwould have to say most things are pre made .. I had there O'Brian. That was a pre.made patty. First time here, and we had dinner. The fried mushrooms were pretty decent. The batter was a little lighter as far as fried... mushrooms go, which I liked. I also got the macho burger, with an extra patty. Unfortunately, the patties didn't have muchflavor, and the jalapenos didn't have any heat to them. Overall quite underwhelming. Service was excellent. Very friendly andprompt. I'll go back for the breakfast, as it looks amazing, and update my review from there. Read more
Biggest best omelet I've ever had. Fabulous spicy oily American fries. I was surprised at the size of the cafe and impressed by... the two U-shaped sit-at counters. Excellent friendly service (few customers at the time). One photo is the alignment of windturbines with the main street of Shabbona. Shabbona also is a train watchers haven. The is a nice state park nearby as well.Bring a small boat or fishing pole. Read more
Not a coffee drinker but loved their cappachino. It was just perfect. Super soft pancakes and swedish cakes. Our host was also... very nice, she was able to make a delicious veg sandwich for us even though it was not in their menu. Worth stopping by.Definitely coming back. Read more
Shabbona is a small town and to be honest I was expecting a litte run down Cafe. It was extremely clean, tables and booths we... new without holes, the breakfast was VERY good, staff was courteous. I highly recommend Shabbona Cafe if you're it town. Theresidents of Shabbona have a gem here. Just watch your step going out. Read more
