Charming small town restaurant. Enjoyed the intimate atmosphere and the personalized service. The food was very good and... presented well. With an excellent offering from the menu. However, for a small restaurant. The service was very slow and theyforgot our appetizers. Several parties arrive after us and had gone before we were ever served. So the 4 stars are for food andatmosphere only. 2 Stars for the wait time and service. However they did comp us our deserts and coffee. Which was greatlyappreciated. We will be back on our next visit to Connecticut. Read more

We recently had a family event at The Painted Lemon and it was beyond great in my expectations. Kimberly and Giovanni listened... to what I wanted and they came through with flying colors. They were very considerate and wonderful hosts. The food was fabulousand there was not one complaint about any of it. Everyone loved it. Truly delicious. The facility is light, bright andwelcoming. The staff was very professional, the service efficient and they aimed to please. I am eternally grateful to everyoneat The Painted Lemon for helping to make our day memorable and tasty. Read more
The food here is delicious, and the menu has plenty of choices for different moods without being overwhelming. My wife and I... feel like we're adults eating sophisticated food, and my kids eat the food enthusiastically as well! But hey, lots of placeshave good food. The reason we always think of this place when we're deciding where to eat/order from is because the staff arejust outstanding. The customer service is truly exceptional. Tonight, the delivery.com delivery guy never showed up to pick upour food to bring, and someone from the restaurant got in her car to bring it to us. They always go the extra mile, and it's whythis is our favorite Italian place, and, now that I think about it, favorite restaurant, in the area. Reviews were amazing. Caught off guard when we walked in and was told they'd have to check to see if they had space outside... without a reservation. The weird part was the place was really empty. Didn't know reservations were a thing in such a smalltown. Waiter made up for it.. I disliked you can't order a large pizza for the table but liked the personal pizzas were muchlarger than expected. Overall, great service.. after initial greeting. "Do you have a reservation? No? Well, I'm going to seewhat we can do." With an annoyed tone. The rest of the experience saved the day. Recommendation would be to maybe have a nicerhost. Happy this didn't set the tone for rest of experience. Ohh.. and the crust of the bread was merely impossible to actuallychew and I felt like a straight up savage attempting. ??????? Would come back. Read more
