My son and I saw Aunt Butchies on TikTok and stopped by on our way home to Washington, DC. We had a wonderful meal this... afternoon. The service was attentive and seamless. Alex had the Sunday Sauce pasta. The meatballs and sausage were delicious aswas my eggplant parmigiana. The portions are enormous. Great value!!! We finished with cannolis. Heavenly!! I can’t believe what a wonderful experience it was to have a after funeral luncheon at this excellent restaurant. Everyone... enjoyed the food, service and the attentive staff. It was so above standards in a Staten Island establishment. I will beforever grateful that my family and friends enjoyed my mother in law’s passing with food and love. I was there this afternoon for lunch. While I was there, I confirmed reservations for this upcoming Sunday (which I made 6 weeks... ago). The female manager confirmed & happily said that she looked forward to seeing us again on Sunday. Several hours later, thenight manager called and said my party was going to be moved outside, due to lack of space. I’m thinking, LACK OF SPACE? Youhad plenty of room when I made the reservation of 6 for my daughter’s 16th birthday. How do you SUDDENLY not have room a fewdays prior? I will tell you how. Obviously, this manager didn’t want to turn away customers that frequent this establishment.This is totally unprofessional and beyond disgraceful. When I told him my thoughts, his exact words were, “well, this is theway it is, so I really don’t know what to tell you”. REALLY??? And he is the MANAGER? We’ll needless to say, I canceledmy reservations and called Giulianna’s which is fabulous, just farther than I had originally wanted to travel. The St. George Theatre is so thankful to Aunt Butchies for being a restaurant sponsor at our May 7, 2022 gala. Peter & staff... were wonderful to work with . The food was presented beautifully and of course DELICIOUS. No wonder they're one of our favoriteSI restaurants! And did I mention they make the best stuffed meatballs!!? We were a little skeptical at first walking in- we didn't know if it was a dressy restaurant or more casual. It is good for both... dining experiences. To the left is more of the dining area (dressy) and toward the right is more of the bakery/casualdining. The appetizers we got were baked clams, stuffed mushrooms and the special appetizer of the night which was the freshcrab cake! This was so delicious and beautifully plated with a real purple orchid flower. It had real lump crabmeat and anamazing chipotle mayo sauce. For the entrees we got the special of the night which was tuna steak with a sesame teriyaki glaze,penne vodka with ricotta cheese and eggplant parmigiana. All the entrees where huge in portions and filling! The tuna was searedperfectly and still left a bit rare which was exactly how I wanted it. When it came to dessert they had a book of filled withspecialty desserts, pastries, ice cream sorbets and more. We got up to look at the case of desserts which were priceddifferently than the ones on the menu which was weird- for example in the case it said 3.50$ for a piece of cheesecake for"takeout only" when on the menu it was 6$ a slice.
