We were camping nearby and saw this from the road. We thought we?d give it a shot. I had the smoked chicken, green beans, and... Cole slaw. My husband had ribs, pulled pork, baked beans, and slaw. It was SO good. The meat was very tender. The peopleworking were friendly and working hard. We will 100% be back. I grew up in Texas and have been looking for a decent Texas style barbecue anywhere around here. In Texas, barbecue means beef... not pork. We rolled up into Sooner barbecue and were immediately impressed with the smoking operation going on outside in theparking lot. The people were over-the-top friendly. I tried the brisket and can honestly say it is the best brisket anywherearound here! Tender. Smoky Flavorful. I have found my home for barbecue! There is no need to go anywhere else! Read more
Found this place by chance, and it was my lucky day! This is hands down the best BBQ I've ever had and I'm very picky about BBQ!... I'm a firm believer that the best places to eat are your little mom and pop "hole in the wall" places. This holds true toSooner's BBQ with the quality of the food, service, and overall atmosphere. The owners are an adorable couple with a great senseof southern hospitality and creativity. They make their own BBQ sauces! I love the kimchi BBQ and the mild(on the sweet end) aswell. I ordered the *Hog trough* which has fries, Mac&cheese, pulled pork, baked beans, and topped with Cole slaw... You justadd your BBQ of choice. We visited this location 3 days in a row for lunch and were so impressed. I recommend the pulled pork sandwich, the grilled... meatloaf, and everything except the green beans. I felt like they were very plain and straight from a big can. I would havepreferred those same contents washed, and seasoned with some of the pork. The beans were almost not worth mentioning compared totheir main entrees. They also cover large events by order in advance. I saw a very busy set of entrepreneurs working hard forall of their guests. I overheard their frustration and would encourage large parties to order well in advance please! Read more
My husband and I randomly stopped here after visiting the local greenhouse. We were both craving BBQ and this was the closest... one. It was in a weird little strip mall so we didn't have high expectations but were totally blown away!!! Everything wasPERFECT! The meat was juicy, perfectly spiced, and so tender that it fell off the bone. The sides were equally as impressive! Idon't know how they make their collard greens but these are my favorite now. Just enough sweetness and vinegar with the leavesstill holding a bite. I daydream about it. It's been a few weeks since we've gone but I think we need to make another trip outhere for the food! Sooners BBQ catered a rehearsal dinner for me. We are from out of town so I went off of Google reviews. They did not... disappoint.
