Sorry, the food tasted sour & was horrible. My daughter said it smelled bad. Pic on menu looked nothing like the real thing & I... had to throw it away after 1 bite. Pls improve your food with better, fresh ingredients & offer sample taste or something. Iwill never return. Read more

This is definitely a place to be. We came through by accident on our way to Mount Rainier during our 15 days road trip from... Ohio. The food was very delicious. We ordered Kao Piak Sen, Lao sausage with sticky rice with Lao Jeo, chicken wings combo. KaoPiak Sen was the best I've tried in years. The owner is down to earth and very genuine. If you are in town and looking forauthentic Lao food, please give this place a try. You will not be disappointed. Thank you again Diana for your great food andhospitality. Read more

Food is absolutely delicious! Went with my sister and ordered way too much food because we were excited to see lao dishes we... grew up with on the menu. Love this place! Read more

Really disappointing - nothing I had was any good. The Lao spicy basil lacked flavor and was way more oily than any stir fry... I?ve ever had; Tom Kha was tangy but also strangely flavorless. Spice levels aren?t accurate. Echoing a previous reviewer, thistasted like sad fast food, and I kinda feel bad for the other reviewers who think it?s great. Someday they?ll have actually goodThai food and their minds will be blown. I didn?t really think I was picky about Thai food before tonight, but I definitelywon?t be back to Sweet Rice. You should find somewhere else, too - there are enough Thai places around to skip this one. Read more

Delicious & unique Laotian food in Tacoma. It may not look like much, but portion are quite generous as it's jam-packed. Flavors... are quite deep and complex and very delicious. Read more

It's difficult to pull me from the only dimsum in Tacoma, but through a wild advertising campaign on Instagram, Sweet Rice... managed to bring me through the door. The location sucks but most of the best food in the world is in terrible locations. It'sthe taste that matters. We ordered the Crab Fried Rice to go. First issue is the crab. The menu says fresh crab, but I would betthat it might be from a can. Nothing bad, but the menu says fresh. The only other issue was the oil. Tons of oil and very greasyLike that takeout scene from the first Rush Hour movie. The price was also not updated and we ended up paying more than the menuboard read. The actual flavor was insanely good. The rice was delicious, and the spice level was dead on flavorful. I intend torevisit and try some other menu items because the base flavor is so freakishly good. I will update the review then. Read more

1st time here & it is cafe style so you pay before you eat. The pad thai & fried rice rice had a good flavor. I wish I knew the... servers name but she was incredibly nice! GREAT service & so welcoming. They also have Macadons macarons! I wish they had achanging table in the bathroom and I feel like meat should be included in the price of the stir fried noodle dishes like otherThai restaurants but other than that it was tasty! Also the serving of pepper beef was rather on the small side. Read more

The place was very clean and the staff was very nice. This is why I gave a better rating. The food looks very flavorful and it... was presented neatly and with care, but my critique is that I feel that everything was too sweet. I couldn?t enjoy it as muchbecause everything was overpowered by sweetness. Idk if they were just having an off day with the sugar? If we try it again andit?s different I will change my review. It is called sweet rice so maybe that is how it?s supposed to be. But even my coffee wasoverwhelmingly sweet. This is just my take on it. Feel free to enlighten me if I?m in the wrong. Read more
