The location is great, right along the river with a great view. The food was good not great but wow, it was expensive. For a hot... dog with fries, nachos and a beer it was $50. I’ve been coming here for years, but after my last few visits (and especially the latest) this might be my last. I know it was... a Monday, but one server for 9 tables is ridiculous. She did yer best, and honestly that’s the only reason I didn’t give 1star. The duck was ordered to the chef’s recommendation (medium rare) and it was grey, cooked through, and dry. I would havesent it back but I was so hungry (and it took SO long) I didn’t. Even though it was well done, there was a lot of fat and theskin was not at all crispy. The sauce was two smears that I barely noticed. But the real disaster was the sweet potato hash. Bland without a hint of seasoning (much like the entire dish) and looked nothing more than diced sweet potato fries with a driedout mini-greens salad dumped on top. Sit outside, order a burger and a beer, and listen to the river running by. Do that andyou’ll be ok, but don’t go expecting fine dining, or anything even close to it. Read more
Amazing place to have lunch, esp if you are drawn to rivers. Deck sits at the bend of the Trinity so u can watch tubers float to... their exit point. Food is good and drinks are solid. Staff is friendly and informative. Was able to walk over and take a lovelydip after lunch too! Lots of bikers gather there as well either pre or post trip on the bike path. Read more
Of course the view is great and the caesar salad with chicken was very tasty, but the computer ordering system was down and... patrons had to stand in line and wait nearly 30 minutes while the tech guy worked to get it going again because “it’s tiedto our inventory system.” River Ranch management should have a backup plan for computer outages such as a pencil and paperticket book so life can go on while the computer is being fixed. Do your inventory input from the paper tickets on your own timeafter the Sunday lunch rush and get the food out so everyone in the group can eat together. The customer and food service shouldbe your priorities, not inventory control. Do that later. Read more
Popped in here for drinks after tubing down the river. As we were in our bathing suit attire, we sat outside and enjoyed the... live music. My friends loved the frozen rum runner drink while I enjoyed my sweetened (at my request) margaritas. It was such arelaxing vibe on the deck. Only drawback were the public restrooms - incredibly small, humid and dirty. Considering all thepeople going through them throughout the day, it could definitely use an upgrade and expansion. Would still return to try outthe huge plates of nachos that continously passed us and seemed to be incredibly popular. Read more
We had a great time at this restaurant. The view is amazing as most have said. The sound of the rushing water is very... soothing. Initially when we arrived we wanted to be outside. We were pretty disappointed that couldn’t happen. However itended up being the best thing. As soon as that sun sets, it really cools off. By the time we got midway through our dinner, aonce packed patio was almost completely cleared. We wouldn’t have been prepared for that so sitting inside at a table for 2right next to an open window is a pretty nice spot as you can see from my photos. Our food was very good. I had the scallopsand my wife got a salad. I probably could have eaten 2 dishes of the scallops they were that good. I was definitely glad wemade this stop. Service wise it was good. Such a fun place. I could have sat all day enjoying the music, cocktails and scenery. The food was good, service was lovely, and... the atmosphere unbeatable. A great way to close out summer. Read more
