Steak wrap had no flavor. Fries were cold and hard. Caesar salad is very small. The chairs were extremely uncomfortable. Servers... acted like we were bothering them, but the place wasn't busy and one was on her phone and the other disappeared into the backroom. Read more
Nice place to stop after hiking or passing through on the bike! Great drink menu, tons of beer on tap, decent food selection! I... highly recommend the massive pretzel with beer cheese as an appetizer. Holy cow it was good!! We got burgers and they weredelicious! Bathrooms are super small so don?t plan on taking your date in there for a quickie. Great service, fun atmosphere,good food, but it may take you a couple circles around the block to find parking. I got their burger with a double patty & my boyfriend got their fried chicken sandwich. Then we also got cheese curds and the... loaded French fries! I wish the fried chicken had more of a spicy sauce and same for the burger. I needed more of a heat aspectbut overall, your typical burger and fried chicken sandwich. Read more
Food was good not great. The cheese curds were hands down the best thing we ordered here, highly recommend subbing them in your... meal for the extra $2.50. The loaded fries were also very good. We went with fatty style and it was awesome. They use both aMerck?s cheddar and a sprinkled cheese which blended well together. Good ratio of toppings and fries . The burger was justokay. Wasn?t anything that?ll blow you away. The fries were also pretty soggy, I recommend getting them loaded as sogginesswon?t matter as much then. The fried chicken sandwich was not my favorite. Chicken was good but lacked crispness. The saucethey used was lacking, I was hoping for more of an overpowering flavor . It needs some vegis on it or maybe some coleslaw. After hiking at Starved Rock State Park, three of us stopped here for a late lunch (Friday, 1pm). There were about two dozen... beers on tap with a wide selection from local Illinois brewers (yay!), and we sampled a few. We ordered the beer batteredcheese curds for an appetizer--they were probably the best cheese curds ive ever had. I could've eaten just those and lefthappy. Our mains were the crispy chicken sandwich, fish snd chips, and chicken wrap. I had the chicken sandwich--it was a taddry on the edges but still good. Our son loved the chicken wrap--it was a very generous size and they were happy to leave outthe onion. My hubs liked the fish--I tried it and the outside was light snd crispy and the inside nice and tender. The tartarsauce was yummy (I can't abide store-bought). Our server was busy but friendly and accommodating. We read the ratings and itseems their burgers are what people come here for...so we'll be back next time we're in the area. Read more
