great place to eat if you hate flavor! seriously, have you ever seen those memes of white people showing off their boiled... chicken that clearly has so seasoning? that?s what this food reminds of. I got the rice and beans bowl, it was literally justrice beans and shaved carrots, not a grain of salt or other necessary seasonings. i got the tahini sauce and that didn?t addmuch flavor either. i would?ve gone back and gotten my money back but I had already biked away. giving it 2 stars because mypartner got the curry and it was pretty good. Really quaint little island health spot with a delicious selection of smoothies, bowls, health shots and soups. They also have a... small case of house made raw vegan cookies. Pure Organic Kitchen also utilizes a sweet point of sale system to facilitatecontactless ordering. Very friendly wait staff behind the counter. We stopped here on a day trip after a local recommended it. The food is all vegetarian and range from $10.50 to 12 or 13. I... guess it depends on how much you want to add. They have veggie bowls and drinks. There might be sandwiches/wraps but it wasn'ton the menu that day. I got a bean and brown rice bowl and chose my dressing. It definitely filled me up for the rest of theday. Didn't even need dinner and had enough energy to get back to the mainland. Read more
Really good and healthy. The "nature bowl" with the lemon tahini dressing is perfect. Their chili paste is hot but not too... much; it was a good compliment to the salad. Now local (NFI), I've had the pleasure of their conversation all to myself on a rainySaturday afternoon, and their last cup of Cassoulet with a fresh juice back. It's refreshing to have such a small dose of heartystew be so energizing and satisfying. I wasn't compelled to have my lemon tart dessert before leaving, but to be honest itdidn't last an hour in my icebox after the first taste got my attention :)
These folks clearly work hard to be open every hourthat they can; the prices are great -- local/raw/organic eVeRYTHiNG as possible, and a variety of options.. menu standards and adaily special.
It is PaTRoNaGe which will allow them to be open longer, more days, and over time change the menu and see enougheconomies such that it can affect their operating costs. It takes multiple islanders juggling the keys to the kitchen.. andwhile waiting for killer clean food isn't something anyone necessarily wants to do, I'd have stood in a line for 20 minutes inthe rain to get in the door if it meant Pure was getting that kind of business on a weekend in December. As it was, I still gottheir last cup of Cassoulet -- what does that tell you?!?
