There are a few key things that put big metropolitan cities like Montreal on the international stage. Things such as arts, entertainment, culture, nightlife, and, most importantly, food!

Every major urban centre is bound to have a steakhouse whose history is as storied as the city itself.

Here are some of our favourite steakhouses in Montreal!

MOISHES

There’s a reason why Forbes magazine named Moishes one of the Top 10 Steakhouses in the world, and why Moishes has become a Montreal favourite that has endured over 70 years! Moishes is a historic gem you can only get a taste of in Montreal. Their rib steak made it to Eater’s “16 Most Iconic Montreal Dishes” list.

GIBBY’S

Gibby’s is a classic steakhouse located in the heart of the Old Port. Housed in an impressively beautiful 200 year-old building, your dining experience at Gibby’s will be one to remember. Historic stone walls, exposed-beam ceilings, cozy fire places and elegant décor provide the perfect backdrop to a romantic meal. Best of all, you’ll be able to enjoy expertly aged meats and extensive wine list.

LA QUEUE DE CHEVAL

When discussing steakhouses in Montreal, you absolutely cannot miss mentioning La Queue De Cheval! This is one of the most prestigious fine dining spots in the city. Known locally as “The Q”. This steakhouse features signature cuts of aged USDA prime steaks dried in-house, La Queue de Cheval also serves Australian Wagyu beef, which is deliciously marbled and fatty. The experience you’ll enjoy is in The Q’s dining room, whiskey bar or cigar lounge which, in our opinion, is worth every penny!
