Now that the weather is starting to get nicer and summer is almost here, most of us can now safely enjoy our favourite restaurants outdoors again.  It’s an experience that we’ve all been missing for far too long. With the summer patio season, comes a remembrance of what life was like when before covid when we knew exactly what we were getting from each restaurant. These days with so many changes happening all the time it’s important to do your research to find out what each restaurant is offering in the way of patio seating, food and restrictions. Here are a few things to keep in mind when it comes to patio hopping this summer.

Hours of operation
It’s important to know that every restaurant is different, especially this year with so many things changing all the time. Do your research and check to make sure that the restaurant patio your hoping to go to is open and what the hours are before you make any plans. Sirved shows every restaurant’s hours as well as contact information if you want to call and double-check.

The Weather
The weather can be the best or the worst part about patio season. Keeping an eye on the weather is important because when the wind picks up, and the clouds start rolling in, you don’t want to be caught on a patio. Especially if it starts to rain or you encounter a summer storm. We all know there’s no controlling the weather but at least we can keep an eye on the radar and the weather for the day before going out.

Reservations
Here’s hoping that all restaurants are busier than ever this summer but with busy times comes full patios, which could mean waiting in line or worse yet not being able to get a table at all. That’s why we recommend double-checking if you need to make a reservation before going to your favourite restaurant. Resy is a great platform for making reservations and if you see their logo or any other participating logo on a restaurant’s Sirved profile you can click it and easily save those summer seats in the sun.

Summer menus
Restaurants change their menus all the time, (believe us, we know) especially in the summer when fresh ingredients are aplenty and the chefs are looking to keep things light and delicious for all the new patrons. For this reason, it’s always good to double-check the menus before you go to make sure they still have that favourite dish of yours and maybe even something new and exciting to try. Sirved offers timestamped menus for every restaurant listing and time saved reading menus before going to a restaurant is time savoured in the sunshine with friends a nice cold beverage, CHEERS TO PATIO SEASON!!
